The Academy & Studio Theatre groups focus on challenging our young actors and improving their performances.

 

We like to try more adventurous theatre and encourage the members of the Academy & Theatre Studio groups to be creative,

not just in their performances but in every aspect of theatre. 

 

We arrange theatre visits so that we can go to see plays as a group.

The standard of theatre, both professional and amateur, in our area is excellent and

watching other productions is a great way to learn how to create good drama.

 

In February they stage a full length play for 3 nights.

This gives the groups a chance to focus on a production and work together

to prepare and perform something challenging but thoroughly enjoyable. 

 

In 2019 the Academy Drama group won the Best Youth Production in the

Greater Manchester Drama Federation full length play festival (the largest theatre festival in Europe)

with their production of 'Murder at Graythwaite Manor School'.
